Origins: Anchovy

In the salty depths of the sea, dwells a tiny fish of iridescent gleam. A small, but mighty nomad of the waters, an unassuming muse.

Living a life ruled by the sun, Lucy Folk found solace and inspiration in the beauty and rhythm of the Balearic Islands. Surrounded by emerald waters, a saltwater paradise, she was enchanted by the local culture, food, and slower pace of life.

Despite their tiny size, the anchoa possess an astonishingly rich and captivating flavour that leaves a lasting impression. But what truly is a culinary gem and a gift from the sea, they are the unsung hero that can be transformed into a delicacy of salty power.

In an overly stimulated world, Lucy found solace in the impact of this little foraging fish. It was not the pungent aroma that captivated her senses, but the the distinctive shape, delicate texture and silvery scales that brought forth a new idea.

Seeing repetitive fine ridges that she perceived as a modern-day a monogram; Lucy wanted to capture this vision and render it part of the brand’s history forever.

Starting out with a wax mould, the skilled hands of our artisans replicated the fine imprint of the skeletal anchovy form, to create hand textured metallic morsels shaped into cuffs, rings and hoops.  A salted embrace, ready for a master.

The Anchovy Cuff serves as more than just a piece of jewellery, it has become an icon of our collections carrying lineage and identity to the Lucy Folk tribe. Each unique marking is embedded with the lustrous story of our culinary origins and as it gracefully encircles the wearers wrist it transcends mere metal, but a shared bond between you and us.

So let us marvel at the anchovy, a silent hero of the brine, a testament to the ocean’s grace.
