Papunya Tula Artists is a leading Aboriginal-owned art cooperative founded in Papunya, Northern Territory, in 1972. It is renowned for pioneering the Western Desert art movement, where Aboriginal artists translate traditional Dreaming stories and symbols into contemporary paintings. The collective supports Aboriginal artists from Central Australia, preserving cultural knowledge while sharing it with national and international audiences.

COMMUNITY | Sugarbush Open Air 2026

Sugarbush returns to the Abbotsford Convent in Naarm (Melbourne) for its second edition, a First Nations‑driven day celebrating sound, space, and community, with a lineup spanning the city’s underground electronic scene and beyond. Curated by Sugarbush Creative & Tjum Tjumba in partnership with Happen Group, the day features forward-thinking dance music, immersive art direction, and striking stage design.

Bangarra Dance Theatre is a world‑renowned Australian performing arts company made up of professional Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander dancers. Rooted in more than 65,000 years of First Nations culture, Bangarra draws on ancestral knowledge, contemporary movement, music, poetry and design to create powerful theatrical works that share deep cultural stories with audiences across Australia and around the world.

NATURE | Walgun Cape Byron guided Aboriginal cultural tour

The Walgun Cape Byron guided Aboriginal cultural tour is a walk through the coastal bushland of Cape Byron, led by a local Aboriginal guide. Participants connect with Country, hear Bundjalung stories, learn about native plants and medicines, see traditional artefacts, visit significant sites like a thousand-year-old midden, and finish with bush food tasting and tea.

ART ARK is an ethical Aboriginal art gallery and online platform based in Palawa (Launceston), Lutruwita (Tasmania) that was founded in 2015 to help people buy authentic Aboriginal artworks sourced exclusively from community‑run, not‑for‑profit Aboriginal art centres. The organisation also provides educational resources about Aboriginal art history, The Dreaming, and Indigenous art symbols to deepen appreciation of Australia’s oldest continuous artistic tradition
