2025 begins a day into the New Moon phase in Capricorn, which underlines the fresh energy of the year ahead, one in which new vistas open up for us both individually and certainly on a collective level.If we were watching a stage production of human life on Earth, 2025 feels like a year in which the entire backdrop is re-imagined.

This new-ness comes from all of the planets in our solar system changing signs - it is incredibly rare for this to all happen within a 12 month period. Two interesting things happen simultaneously;

1. With the collective planets (Uranus, Neptune and Pluto) entering into air and fire signs (Gemini, Aries and Aquarius), the distance between thought to thing feels shorter. Whole new streams of consciousness feel available. Air being on the mental plane, fire being action and expression.

2. While the collective pace feels fresh and fast and exciting, Mars - our drive and willpower and desire and instincts - retrogrades for three months (December 7th - February 24th) in the signs of Leo and Cancer before going direct and spending months in both signs again (Until June 17th). That’s seven months in two signs, that’s unusual for Mars. This creating a large focus on, are my actions in the world aligned with what brings me vitality, what lights me up (Leo), and am I acting on my own intuitive intel (Cancer). The year ahead is one of experimentation, of trying the thing rather than thinking about it.

It’s one in which our eclipses will open us up to direct experiences of the infinity we live within (Pisces) and allow us to query and release any expectations we are working to meet that actually aren’t ours and no longer serve us (Virgo).
