Introducing Lucy Folk’s Resort 2019 Apparel Collection ‘Ettore Blues’.
In 1981 a Bob Dylan record spins in the Milan apartment of architect and designer Ettore Sottsass. His poetry strikes a cord and the iconic 80s design movement is named – Memphis ensues. A name which evokes sentiments of the blues and vignettes of the oldest ancient Egyptian capital city. Taking inspiration from all things Memphis, Ettore Blues is the exotic new world of Lucy Folk.
The Ettore Blues Apparel Collection explore the use of abstract yet organic lines referencing Sottsass unique shapes.
From the age-old artisan techniques and the local Moroccan sartorial know-how, Folk experimented and re-worked traditional silhouettes and applied contemporary style motifs that are perfect for resort living, whilst creating an understated luxury and wearability. By working with specialists in their trade, Folk has embraced the unique process of warping, twilling and weaving materials, as well as colour and dying threads and tailoring each pieces from start to finish.
